What Is The Crystal Structure Of Ag2SeO4?

The crystal structure of Ag2SeO4 is orthorhombic, belonging to the space group Pnma (No. 62). The unit cell contains four formula units and has lattice parameters a = 8.764 Å, b = 6.761 Å, and c = 9.788 Å. The Ag2SeO4 crystal structure consists of corner-sharing [AgO4] tetrahedra and [SeO4] tetrahedra, forming a three-dimensional network. The Ag+ and SeO4^2- ions occupy different sites in the structure, with Ag+ coordinated by four oxygen atoms in a distorted tetrahedral arrangement and SeO4^2- coordinated by four Ag+ cations in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The crystal structure also exhibits anisotropic thermal expansion behavior, with the c-axis showing the highest thermal expansion coefficient.
