Beryllium Phosphate
Beryllium phosphate is a chemical compound with the formula Be3(PO4)2. It is a white, odorless powder that is insoluble in water and acids but soluble in strong bases. Beryllium phosphate has a tetragonal crystal structure and is composed of BeO4 tetrahedra and PO4 tetrahedra.
Beryllium phosphate is used as an additive in the production of certain ceramics and glasses due to its ability to improve their mechanical and thermal properties. However, beryllium is a toxic element and exposure to beryllium dust or fumes can cause lung damage and other health problems. Therefore, proper safety precautions must be taken when handling beryllium phosphate or any other beryllium-containing materials.
