Arsenic Trihydride

Arsenic trihydride, also known as arsine or AsH3, is a colorless gas with a pungent odor. It is highly toxic and flammable, and therefore requires careful handling.

Arsine is formed by the reaction of arsenic with hydrogen gas, and is commonly used in the semiconductor industry as a dopant for silicon and germanium. It is also used in the production of certain types of glass, as well as in the synthesis of various organic compounds.

Inhalation of arsine gas can cause symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Exposure to high concentrations can lead to respiratory failure and death. Skin contact with liquid arsine can cause burns and blisters.

Proper safety measures should be taken when handling arsine, including the use of protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, and respirators, as well as proper ventilation and storage. Emergency protocols should also be in place in case of accidental exposure.
