Tetracarbon decachloride, also known as carbon tetrachloride, is not soluble in water. Its solubility in water is less than 0.02 g/L at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. This is due to the non-polar nature of the carbon tetrachloride molecule, which cannot form strong enough interactions with water molecules to overcome the energy required to break the hydrogen bonds between water molecules.
